The Gardner
The Gardner was my first effort. It is comprised of a 16" x 20" x 2" shadowbox. Three layers of foam board are glued together and wrapped with flannel fabric. The tree trunk is made of wood beads. Assorted vintage earrings and brooches fill the branches. Only a few pieces were purchased at a local specialty store, the rest were purchased from an auction website. The grass is comprised of czech glass seed beads, strung on 28-gauge wire. The figurals and other pieces are JJ, Danecraft, Coro, Weiss, Sarah Coventry, David Anderson Norway, and many others. Approximately seven pounds of jewelry make up this scene.

Susan's Window
Susan's Window How do you thank someone who has brought you to a new height, into a world you never dreamed of, and who has been instrumental in helping you discover something about yourself that you never knew was there. My jewelry connoisseur sister, Susan, in Temecula, California, inspired me to do something artful with jewelry. And as I have been purchasing pieces for my future works, she has directed me in what to look for in vintage jewelry. Four months ago, I could not have identified a pave from a marcasite, or known words like demi parue, rhodium, and coro duette, to name a few. Additionally, my jewelry box is now laden with Crown Trifari, David Anderson Norway, Lisner, Miriam Haskell, Judith Jack, and many other makers. I've taken all that my sister has taught me, and put them into scenery. Each shadowbox is like a mini museum. I made this 16" x 20" x 2" jewellage for Susie.

Candy's Floral and Gift Shoppe
Candy's Floral and Gift Shoppe When I was a little girl, I loved going in floral shops. The fragrance and the beauty engulfed me. And the gift trinkets were so fun to look at. I remember seeing wall plaques all the way to the ceiling. With this Jewellage, I tried to capture the essence of those old floral shops, while at the same time, dressing the shelves with jewelry pieces that deserve being preserved forever in this mini museum. This 16" x 20" x 3" shadowbox contains over $750 (auction price) worth of jewelry. New and old pieces include signed Miriam Haskell, Marvella, Gerry's, Michael Simon, Toledo Damascene, Rucinni, and Jamie Nicole. It also includes pieces made of precious metals and gems such as Sterling, mother of pearl, moonstone, marcasite, and garnet. It also includes pieces that are pave, Austrian crystal, aurora borealis, and cloisonné.

The Aquarium
The Aquarium Seeing all the beautiful fish brooches inspired this 16" x 20" x 2" jewellage. It consists of many signed pieces such as Todedo Damascene, JJ, Danecraft, R.J. Graziano (never worn), Tortalani (the cat on the stand), and Crown Trifari. Other pieces, mostly vintage, were made with marcasite, aurora borealis, opalized glass beads, Swarovski crystal, rhinestone, and Austrian crystals, and many other materials. Not having enough room in this aquarium to host the many beautiful jeweled sea creatures I found, leads me to create a future jewellage which will be, entirely, the bottom of the sea.

The Busy Farm
The Busy Farm I started this in 2007, but didn't like it which caused me to stop making working on jewellages. But one day my friend saw it and loved it, she encouraged me to finish it. The fall grasses are made up of czechoslovakian glass seed beads. The barn is individually set swarovski crystals. Both barn doors actually open showing a foal or a calf. The lady on her horse is a JJ piece, she is trying to corral the horses before they run into the pumpkin patch. The palomino and the cow jumping over the moon are Zarah. This jewellage weighs over eight pounds.

The Mall
The Mall This jewellage is my family's favorite. The top level stores include an accessory store, Macy's, and a beauty salon. The second level is a food court, and a craft store. The bottom level is a music store, dance studio, and toy store. Many of these brooches are AJC, known primarily for their pewter designs, and for their designs with mirrors, such as the lady in the beauty salon, and four in the Macy's store. An exception to the AJC norm is the lady on the top level wearing a fur coat, she is gold tone. Her fur coat opens and she is left wearing a barrel that says "after taxes." Each mall level is divided by a walkway for shoppers. Every shopper is an actual brooch. Other figurals in this collection include Danecraft and JJ.

Circus Circus
Circus Circus This piece shows how easy it is to simply display your beautiful jewelry pieces. Using a 12x12 padded shadowbox, I glued a circus themed scrapbook paper over the pad. I like using padded boxes as it makes it easy to insert the brooch pin. If the box is not padded, I cut a pad from foam poster board. Most of the pieces in this collection are signed Danecraft. These Danecraft brooches include the Ferris Wheel, the three elephants, and the unicycle clown adorned with colorful gems. But the prize piece is the Kirks Folly carousel on the left, which I found on the Texas Highway 80 sale in east Texas.
